Bat Flip Baseball League Rules

League Format

  • Games are 30 minutes or a max of 6 innings.

  • Each team will play a single doubleheader each week. Total time = 1 hour, 1 night per week.

  • League standings and Champions are determined as follows:

    • For HitTrax Hitting Leagues, the team with the best Win-Loss record at the end of the season is declared the winner. The tiebreaker is Runs Scored.

    • For Instructional Hitting Leagues, the team with the most Runs Scored after 4 weeks is the winner.

Team Rules

  • Teams may consist of players across levels, within the restrictions of the league. For example, a team in the 8U-12U league may include an 8U, 10U, and 12U players. HitTrax scales the field and defensive ability according to each player’s skill level.

  • Each team must have at least 2 players in the lineup at the start of the game,  or it results in a 8-0 forfeit. The number of players in the lineup must be set at the start of the game and cannot be changed. If a team chooses to start the game with players from their roster that are not present, those players will record an automatic out until they arrive.

  • Games will start at the designated time, with the second game starting immediately afterwards.

In-Game Rules

  1. Batters must wear helmets in the batting cage.

  2. Pitching machine speed will be set at comfortable batting practice speed for each game and will generally not be changed once the game has started. The goal is for everyone to hit the ball and have some fun!

  3. A member of the Bat Flip Baseball team will serve as the official scorer for each game.

  4. Foul balls or swinging strikes that are not recorded by HitTrax will be marked as strikes.

  5. Any ball that is put in play that is not tracked by HitTrax will be replayed with the same count.

  6. No profanity, fighting, or arguing over results. The simulated gameplay results from HitTrax are final!

  7. There will be no “Distance Boost” applied on the HitTrax system.

  8. Games will be 6 innings, with a time limit of 30 minutes per game.

  9. No new inning can start after 25 minutes.

  10. If a game is tied after the innings or time limit is reached, it will end in a tie.
